Oral Surgery Postpone

UGH! We received a phone call that Jordan's oral surgery is now being postpone until August 20th. Very frustrating because now Todd and I have to rearrange our schedules just because the Doctor decided he wasn't going to be in the office the original date.
I think I should have went to med school so I could make and change my schedule whenever it suits me.

2 More Days!!!

I am getting a little excited to go to the Chicago Bears Family Night.
I do wish it was a game, but seeing the team up close and personal will really get me in the mood for football season, not like I'm not ready for it now! lol

On the Bike this weekend

Well this weekend was spent mostly on the back of a motorcycle.
On Saturday after spending an hour at the gym, Todd and I rode over to the Wild Fire Harley Davidson shop in Villa Park because they were having a tent sale. The items in the tent were cash only so needless to say we didn't purchase anything due to the fact that we don't carry much cash with us. After checking out the store we found a Chinese restaurant near by and had a buffet lunch. Todd later took the bike out twice; once riding around with our neighbor and again after supper.

Sunday Todd was supposed to go riding with an old co-worker, I told him if they guy backs out, I would ride with him. So we got up early, grocery shopped, I went to the gym and when I got home asked if he was still going. Todd said no that the guy backed out so he wasn't going. I told him after lunch I would be willing to go with him. We got on the Internet trying to pick a spot to ride to. We decided that we would take Route 66 until we got tired and then turn around and come back.
Well Route 66 was very windy and pretty boring until we hit Wilmington, IL. As we approached the town we saw Giant Guy (see Todd's blog) we rode through town and they were having "Catfish Days" a parade was about to start so we decided to leave the town before it started (we should have stayed and watched the parade and head back) but instead we kept going down route 66 until be got to Braidwood. We stopped at the Caseys for something to drink and Todd asked the guy where 126 would take us. He informed us to I55. We decided to take 126 to I55. I didn't wear a helmet and riding on 55 without one was something I don't like to do. We got on I55 and decide we would get off when we could and take a frontage road. The exit we got off on didn't have a frontage road so we decided to go west and see if we can cut north. Todd said he saw a big bridge so that must mean it's a major road. The bridge actually was a covered bridge made of metal (Which was nice and warm to go through, did I mention it was quite windy?). We took this and ending up following the DesPlaines River which was really pretty, and would be gorgeous in the fall. Unfortunately every street we decided to take to get back North ended up being a no outlet. We decided to head back to I55 via the warm metal covered bridge and took I55 back to Weber Rd and then the Weber Rd route home.
I would like to go to Wilmington/Braidwood/126/I55/Metal Bridge/DesPlaines River route again with out having to go via Route 66 or I55 sometime in the fall when all the leaves are changing.

Oral Surgery

Well we found out today that Jordan will be having his oral surgery on Friday August 8th. The surgeon gave him the choice to be awake or asleep while he has the surgery and he chose to sleep through it. He also found out he can't eat or drink for 6 hours before surgery. Which he said is going to be hard to do since surgery isn't until 4:00pm. Ethan and I will have to play nurse over the weekend because Todd will be traveling again the following day.

Zucchini Patties

Our local store had zucchini on sale so I remembered the zucchini pattie recipe.
We actually took this recipe and doubled it for dinner tonight. The patties made a good size pancake. I suggested that we go to the farmers market and purchase enough zucchini to spend part of a day making and freezing them for future use.

2 Eggs, slightly beaten
1/4 cup chopped Onion
1/2 cup Bisquick mix
1/4 cup Parmesan Cheese
Salt & Pepper to taste
2 Cups Shredded Zucchini

Use a food processor to shredd the zucchini. Mix all ingredients. In a frying pan add enough oil to coat bottom of frying pan or use cooking spray. Using a ladle, pour mixture into frying pan as if making pancakes. Fry each side until brown. Serve plain or with sour cream.

Car shopping, again

Well we started the process of looking for another used car for Ethan.
The noise that the car makes when you turn is starting to now make noise constantly.
So Todd went today to look at a few used car lots in the area. What sucks is that a lot of lots don't have prices on the cars. We saw one on the internet that looked really nice and clean but when Todd went to view the actual car, it was a mess.
I guess the search will continue until we either find something decent for what we want to spend or his car completely dies.
Praying for the same deal that we got on Jordan's car would be awesome.

Me Lazy? YES!!!

I haven't been feeling well these past 2 days. I am fighting an infection and plus Thursday I went to the dentist for my continuation of my dental work and my mouth hasn't felt good since. Matter of fact I took yesterday off of work because of these 2 things. I did get a few things done around the house like I got ALL the laundry done yesterday while I was off, I did get some vacuuming done and straight up a few things today but other then that nothing, I think about the things that I need to do and then start to think about what it will take to do these things and I then have no drive to do it. Hopefully tomorrow I will feel a little better to get some other projects around the house done.

Exhausted myself

Yesterday I pushed myself to the limit.
I did my semi-normal work day. I am doing flex hours so I am working 4 days a week 9 hours and then 1 day a week 4 hours. So yesterday I had a 9 hour day. Work is getting nuts, I am working 2 desks and the mail is getting to be overwhelming. The warehouses have been working overtime with all the truckloads of merchandise they are getting in. Dang buyers. Anyway, we are seeing this within the mail.
After work I came home made dinner and then went to the gym to work out. I then decided since we were going to have 90 degree weather for the next 4 days that I should mow. So I mowed the lawn after working out. I then collapsed on the couch once I showered. When I got up to go to bed I felt the pain.
I did sleep very well but I am achy today.
Did I over do it? Maybe just a little...

All Registered

We went downtown for orientation and registration for Ethan at College yesterday. We did get a lot a walking in; it's a long walk from the train station to the film and video building where orientation was held. (Yesterday was registration only for the Film and Video Majors) Ethan and the group of Animators then had to go to Michigan Ave to actually register while the parent had an information meeting at the Wabash building. He got all the classes that he wanted with the exception of one. He decided with his advisors suggestion to get his Speech class over and done with in the 1st semester instead of taking the History class; hey whatever works. On the way home we walked fast so we would be able to make the 4:45p train and not have to wait for a later one. So needless to say we were all exhausted by the time we got home last night.
Now all we have to purchase are his books. So that will mean another trip downtown but maybe we can do that one on a Saturday.

4th of July Parade

Ethan was in the Darien 4th of July parade this past weekend. He received a scholarship from the Darien Lions club and was asked to ride in the parade along with 2 other winners from the Lions clubs scholarships that are given out.

Here are a few pics from the Parade:

Parade Waiters

Ethan on the convertible, his name is on the other side of the car. Ruby got a picture of that for us.

"Here is my Mom and Dad and family" is what he said

Here is the sign that was hung on the side of the convertible

2 Brothers Brewery

Last night Raelynn and Gary invited us to go out to eat with them to celebrate Gary's birhtday.
We went to 2 Brothers Brewery in Warrenville IL.
Todd ordered the Beer samplers so I tried the Domaine Dupage and I ordered something that they didn't have an offical name for, the picture is on the right. It a triple ale that's a sweet beer with an after taste of spice. I really enjoyed both beers.
I am a beer snob and only like amber or light color beers so I didn't really think I was going to find one I would like and here I ended up liking 2.

We are going to have to go to Binny's and see if they carry either of these beers.

Oh yeah the food was pretty good too!

Laughed so hard I almost peed my pants

Today after the 4th of July parade (I will blog that tomorrow with pictures) we went to my sisters house for a bbq and to celebrate my brother in laws birthday.
Anyway my older sister will be moving to Florida once her house sells so she brought some items for us to take if we were interested.
She had a box of CD's that if we wanted we could have. She would hold up the CD and who ever announce 1st they wanted it, got it.
Well at times we would sing a song from the artist that she held up.
One of the CD's was the TOP GUN Soundtrack.
I busted out a verse from the song Danger Zone.
Try to envision; I was holding a child's putter in my hand pointed it to my sister and sang these words:
"I went to the danger zone" at that point both my sisters looked at me and said.
"Highway to the danger zone".
The combination of pointing the putter, singing the wrong words, the look on my sisters face and the realization that I have been singing the wrong words since 1986 was enough for all of us to lose it. We all had a good 5 minute laughing fit. At one point when I had some control, I looked at Todd and said; "You have let me sing the wrong words all this time?" His response was; "I don't think I have ever heard you sing that song".
As I am typing this I am still cracking up from the whole senereo

All Summer Long by Kid Rock

No, I am not a Kid Rock fan not even near one, but I heard this song on the radio and thought it was rather good. I wanted to download it on itunes but they don't have it in their catalog for downloading.
The video is what I would expect from Kid Rock, so if your not into girls barely dressed, just listen to the song and forget about watching the video....

Chicago Bears Family Night

I am actually blogging this before Todd knows I purchased this. hehehe!
Anyway, I received an e-mail from ticketmaster about the Chicago Bears Family night at Soldier Field. Here is the information:

Come see the Bears practice at Soldier Field at Comcast Bears Family Night presented by Chase. Pre-practice festivities begin outside the stadium at 3pm with live music, food and beverage, radio stations, the Miller Lite Beer garden and FREE STUFF! Stadium gates open at 5pm with practice beginning at 7pm. Don't miss the chance to get on the field in the Jersey off their Back scratch-off contest and stay late for our spectacular fireworks display.

3pm: Festivities outside the stadium
5pm: Gates open
7pm: Practice
9pm: Jersey off their back scratch-off promotion
9:20pm: Fireworks Show

Anyway, the ticket were only $9.50 each including the surcharge but not including parking. With the cost of going to an actual Bears game being so expensive, I thought this would be a good way to get to see the Chicago Bears. The great thing is that instead of asking for Best Available tickets I scrolled down and found lower (100 level) and picked that. We got seats real close to the field!!! This should make for excellent pictures.

I can't wait!!!
