Card 42 of 52 for 2009

I made this for the Weekend Sketch Challenge #98 but we will also be making this for my Christmas Card camp in November.
You can't really see in the picture unfortunately, but there is Dazzling Diamond glitter throughout the tree, which makes the tree so pretty.

My Halloween Costume part 2

Here is another part of my Hallowenn costume.
This should be interesting, I have never worn acrylic nails before. I probably won't be able to do much once they are on. lol

Most Likely, Surgery

Todd has been having back problems for awhile and then really hurt his back in July. He has been going to the chiropractor since mid July and it has not really been helping much. He had an MRI done this past Friday and our family doctor called and informed us today that he needs to go talk to a neurosurgeon to determine if surgery is needed. Our family doctor feels that continuing physical therapy will probably not do any good because he has a bulging disk. The same disc he had surgery on last time but now on the other side. He will go in on Tuesday to his chiropractor and discuss it with him but I really doubt the chiropractor will be able to do anything.
Todd is not happy about this at all, this will be his 2nd back surgery on the same discs.

Oh come on!

I usually don't post the Arlo and Janis comic regularly but when I read this one my 1st thoughts was my sister doing this to my brother-in-law during a Raiders game. Not sure if she would ever do anything like this...
It's still funny especially Arlos face.

Attraction

Even just the little acknowledgement confirms there is still the attraction.

Wednesday Night Summer TV

Over the summer we have been enjoying the show Wipe Out on Wednesday evenings on ABC.
The show is the same thing every week people going through obstacle courses and watching them fall. Yeah, we laugh when they fall, but the funniest part about the show are the 2 hosts John Henson and John Anderson along with their Co host Jill Wagner. Their commentary about each contestant is hilarious. Tonight was their season finale, hopefully they will return next summer.

Then these last 3 weeks following Wipe Out; is a show called Crash Course.
Partners drive cars through obstacle courses to win $50,000 and the Golden Chained Steering Wheel. Similar to wipe out the commentary from the two hosts Orlando Jones and Dan Cortese and not bad to look at either is hilarious. I have mentioned that I wouldn't mind being on this show, it looks so fun. This show was only on for a few weeks so I am really hoping it returns next summer.

Patrick Swayze

Today we lost another actor to the dreaded Cancer
I tried to find a picture of him where he didn't have his mullet but not where he looked really ill.

I think we will always remember him from Dirty Dancing!

My Halloween Costume part 1

I love Fall and Halloween, this year we are hoping to throw a little Halloween party/costume party. Those temporary Halloween stores have opened up in the area and I am starting to find pieces of my costume here and there. I ordered my costume off the Internet and hoping it will be here by the end of the week.
You will probably figure out what I am going to be by the pictures I post and I will eventually post the full costume closer to Halloween. Todd and Jordan's will be dressing up too but I am not sure if Ethan is dressing up this year.

Here is one of the accessories for my costume.

Kind of fun huh?!

Bags Fly for Free

Fantastic Lumpy News

Lumpy is BENIGN. Happy Dancing!!!
Doctor said they will do another ultrasound next year to see if it has grown and if not they will periodically do ultrasounds. WHOOHOO! I can handle that!
Didn't say what they would do if it had grown; but you know what, I can worry about that bridge if I have to ever cross it!

Fine Needle Biopsy

I had my fine needle biopsy today. I was a little scared only because of the fear of the unknown. With the internet being so informative, I watched a YouTube video of the precedure yesterday; but you never know what the pain would be like. They told me they would numb my neck and then take 4-5 vial samples. I would then have a noticable lump and to take tylenol for the pain and use ice for the swelling.
1st off there was pain when they numbed my neck. It 1st felt like what would be a bee sting, then it changed to a deep pain. Once the doctor was done I announced that that part SUCKED. He waited a few minutes and then started withdrawing samples I think he only did 4 samples but not feeling this part, I lost track on how many vials were used.
Once they were done they cleaned me up and put a band-aid over the area and gave me an ice pack. I was given the instuctions not to do any heavy lifting or excersise today, change the bandaid if needed, ice the area and take tylenol for the pain.
Yes, I do have to say I am glad I didn't go to work once it was over. My neck is in more pain then I thought it would be. It feels as if I slept wrong and if I turn my neck it will hurt. Coughing hurts and swallowing isn't too bad but does hurt a little. I am looking forward to tomorrow when the pain will be gone.
Now I hope that the biopsy results turns out to be ok.

Labor Day Weekend

1st Happy Labor Day to everyone.

We had an nice Labor Day weekend, mine started on Friday at 10:30am. I spent most of the day running around and getting stuff for Saturday. I did major cleaning and by the evening I was exhausted.
Saturday Todd and I hosted a family reunion; my aunt, uncle and cousins from my dad's side of the family all come over. It was nice to see everyone and I think they all enjoyed themselves along with the Baggo Tournament we had.
Sunday we watched a movie we DVR'ed awhile ago, then I cleaned up the backyard from the reunion and stamped a few cards for future camps.
Sunday I needed to grocery shop for the week and then I pulled out items for our up and coming garage sale. Later I was sucked into watching a movie Todd was watching The Astronaut Farmer. I liked the movie but didn't like the movie.
I get one more day off, tomorrow I have my biopsy in the early am and then I am supposed to not do anything strenuous for the rest of the day. Maybe we have another movie on the DVR to watch.

Card 40 of 52 for 2009

My campers will be making this or something similar to this for my October Stamp Camp.
Weekend Sketch Challenge #96

Murder by Death

A few days ago I saw that the Murder by Death was going to be on TMC, I didn't have to time watch it then so I DVR'd it. This movie came out in 1976 and I remember seeing it at the theatre, I was only 13 at the time so I decided to record it because I vaguely remember the movie. This morning; since it is a little gloomy out we decided to watch the movie

Plot: Five famous literary detective characters and their sidekicks are invited to a bizarre mansion to solve an even stranger mystery.
This movie stars some great actors: Eileen Brennan, Truman Capote, James Coco, Peter Falk, Alec Guinness, Elsa Lancaster, David Niven, Peter Sellers, Maggie Smith, Nancy Walker, Estelle Winwood and James Cromwell.

A funny movie with great double entendres.

My Bobopsy is scheduled

My Bobopsy/biopsy is schedule for 8:00am on Tuesday September 8th. They will numb my neck and with a fine needle take out some samples in a few different spots. I should have the results by the end of next week. We are hoping Not Cancer, I want to keep my thyroid.

Since I found out about the lump Todd and I keep referring to the movie My Big Fat Greek Wedding. If you saw the movie you will remember this part:

Aunt Voula: [to Ian's parents] Now, you are family. Okay. All my life, I had a lump at the back of my neck, right here. Always, a lump. Then I started menopause and the lump got bigger from the "hormonees." It started to grow. So I go to the doctor, and he did the bio... the b... the... the bios... the... b... the "bobopsy." Inside the lump he found teeth and a spinal cord. Yes. Inside the lump was my twin.
