Almost April
I really can't believe it is almost April already. I am hoping that the weather improves; we have had really nice days here and there and hoping that the warm spring weather shows up again more often. I can't believe that in a few short months Ethan will have completed his 1st year in college and Jordan will have finished his junior year along with his 1st year of culinary school. All I can say is WOW!

3 Stooges Movie...nyuk,nyuk,nyuk,nyuk!
I heard on Access Hollywood that a movie about the 3 Stooges is going to be made. Sean Penn to play Larry, Benicio Del Toro to play Moe and the one I am excited about is Jim Carrey to play Curly. Not sure if this is going to be about the Stooges lives or a remake of one of their movies; either way, I'm there!!!

French Onion Soup
Jordan made us French Onion Soup for dinner tonight.
He learned how to make it in Culinary school this past week.
Sorry no pictures didn't think of taken any at the time, was more interested in eating it.
I was his sue chef, asking him what he needed for me to do and kind of supervised my kitchen area. He did really well; need practice with the knife but the soup was awesome. Hopefully he will make it again sometime.
Can't wait to see what other recipes he learns this semister to bring home and try on us.

New Background
Had to change my background with a fun playful Easter theme! Also had to make sure there were bunnies in the background. I think this was the only one with bunnies on it from the website I get my backgrounds from. Not too crazy about the purple; but it is only for a few weeks so I think I can deal with it.

These are the days I LOVE
Spring really isn't my favorite season, we have more chilly or rainy days that you really don't enjoy the season too much. But there are a handfull of days like today that I do LOVE. Today sunny, 63+ degrees, the birds are singing, windows open and light jackets are optional. They are calling for sunny and 70 degrees tomorrow then rain the rest of the week. (See just a handfull of pretty days here and there).

Books on CD
The whole month of March I am participating in a job switch in the same department but learning Imports to Warehouse orders instead of Domestics to Warehouse orders.
I am also being trained on how to do reports for the entire department (because the person who currently does these reports will be having hip surgery in May). We are allowed to listen to the radio or our mp3/ipods at work, normal at my own desk I listen to THE MIX until 10:00am then turn my radio off. I get bored listening to my ipod everyday so I decided to go to the library and get a Book on CD. I checked out my 1st book on CD on Sunday and have almost finished it. I will be headed back to the library tomorrow to go check out another one. Kind of fun being able to work and listen to books.

The Dryer Arrived

Incredibly Fortunate
We have been incredibly fortunate in the few major purchases that we have had to make these past few weeks.
1st we got an incredible deal on the new refrigerator we purchased. Then we found out that we had to purchase a new dryer and found a great deal on that.
Saturday Todd took his truck in to get the brakes fixed. We found out today he needs the whole brake line fixed, new pads and calipers on the front. We knew this was going to be a huge expense; probably close to 2 grand. Found out the total will be less then a thousand. OMG!! This is the 2nd time we are using this mechanic and I can tell you right now we will continue to use him. If anyone needs a good mechanic, let me know and I will give you the name and location.

Night at the Opera
Tonight Todd and I watched Night at the Opera starring the Marx Brothers on TMC
This 1935 Classic about a sly business manager and two wacky friends of two opera singers help them achieve success while humiliating their stuffy and snobbish enemies. (Plot discription taken from IMDB)
This was the 1st time Todd and I ever watched this movie and it was exactly what we had expected from the talented Marx Brothers.

Before and After
Last night Todd Skyped with his brother Rodney and Jordan was in on part of the conversation. Every time Todd and Rod talk the issue of Weight gets brought up.
Anyway, Jordan chimed in and said he has drop weight. It is true Jordan is now wearing the same pants size as Ethan. I am thinking that he lost close to 20 lbs but we don't know because our scaled is broke.
Rodney asked how he lost the weight and basically he is doing 2 things. Is conscience of what he is eating where before I don't think he was and he is exercising; stationary bike and Giselle.
Rodney suggested that he do a before and after picture and send it to the people who make the Giselle or Tony Little.
Here are 2 pictures of Jordan. One was taken when he graduated from 8th grade at his graduation party. The 2nd was take this past January when we had family pictures taken. You can really see that he lost the weight and he did this all on his own with no guidance from mom and dad. He is still exercising but now he has added weights to tone.

Playing with my computer camera
I have been playing with the camera on my laptop since I got the laptop and I have been running into problems with it being too dark. I asked Ethan to come and help (he really wasn't in the mood to help) but I wouldn't let him leave until we figured it out. I also made him sit in on the few practice pics.
Here is the best we came up with so far. I will keep trying until the picture is crisp and clearer.

Beaming with Pride
There was a missed message on my cell phone this afternoon, it was my son Jordan. I only missed the call by 15 minutes so I decided to call him back just in case it was an emergency. So when I called I asked "what's up?" He said "Oh Mom you are going to Freak" I said "Ok what?" Jordan: "I was chosen" I broke in: "Whoo Hoo" (Whoo hoo'ed because I was just happy to here the words I was chosen) Jordan: "To be one of the servers at the Culinary Scholarship Banquet." Me: "That is AWESOME"
When I got home I discussed the details with him more.
The Chef called each student up to his desk to show them their current grade. He showed Jordan that his is currently getting a 93 in the hospitality portion of Culinary School. The Chef then told Jordan that he has been chosen to be a server at the banquet on March 12th. Only 8 student where chosen from the afternoon session and I am not sure how many were chosen from the morning classes. He told me both Juniors and Seniors were chosen.
This is awesome, sometimes Jordan feels that he gets overlooked or that he never gets picked to participate in situations. So I think this will help him see that when he applies himself good things happen.
I am so proud!!

A Funny and A Frustrations-2 in 1
Ok 1st with the funny.
Our dog is afraid of our ice maker that came with our new Refridge. He was near the kitchen door and the ice maker made the noise ice makers make, you know the dropping of the ice in the tray. Well anyway, the dog jumped and backed up. Last night around midnight the dog started barking. So Todd being the sweetheart he is, got out and asked the dog if he wanted to go out. The dog just layed there and cowarded. Then the ice maker made a noise and the dog proceeded to bark toward the kitchen. LOL
Now for the Frustration:
My dryer is broke. It is making a noise like a shoe is tumbling in the dryer so last night I decided to try and do a load of jeans. Well after an hour of thump, thump, thump I opened the dryer door and the jeans were still wet. UGH! Oh well you can't perdict the future. So now it is off to purchase a dryer. Hopefully they will deliver it ASAP. I think I will be visiting the laundry mat this weekend though.

The New Refrigerator Arrived
Our new refrigerator was delivered today. Todd stayed home for the delivery and it was a good thing he did, they ended up having to bring it in though the kitchen entry by the diningroom instead of our kitchen entry that faces the front of the house. We are finding that this refrigerator has it Pros and Cons. The fridge is bigger, wider and taller, now we have to either find a narrow garbage can or find a new place to put our garbage can. Never having a side-by-side, we will have to get used to the way it is set up and then there is the fingerprint/handprints on the stainless steel.
All in all I LIKE IT!

New Refrigerator
This July we will have had our refrigerator for 18 years. The refrig still works but it is looking rather shabby and we felt it is time to purchase a new one. We found a real good sale which included a rebate in the Sunday sale ads this weekend, we then looked on the internet for ratings on the refrigerator and the company. We decided to take a trip and look at the refrigerator. It had all the features we wanted and the drawers and doors seemed really sturdy. So we purchased it. Here is our new refrig that will be delivered on Tuesday.
We are keeping our teenage refrig. as a "BEER FRIDGE" and for our Market Day overflow too!
