I should have waiting 1 day to make card #33.
The sketch of the card is from the weekend sketch challenge I particpate in.
I figured I would make it similar to card #33, but a little different.
The sketch/way this card is layed out will be used for a card at my Christmas Card Camp; but of course it will be Christmas themed.

Layouts
I am out of "new" layouts to post until the next time I go scrapbooking.
I think I will scan a few older ones that I never posted before. I will probably have the opportunity to scan some of Friday
So the 33rd layout of 52 will probably be posted on Friday

Back to School
Today is Back to School day for Jordan, though it is only a half day.
My baby/youngest is starting his Junior year in high school. This means the start of visits to colleges and testing. We have 3 colleges in mind that we think he will "fit" into with his LD and personality. So we will have to schedule times for a visit or see if they will be having open houses soon. Hopefully all of them won't be downtown like Ethan's were.
Hoping that Jordan's junior year will be an adventure with fun and excitement.

The Long Long Trailer
About a month ago I DVR'ed the movie The Long Long Trailer starting Lucille Ball and Dezi Arnaz.I am not sure what the critics said or how many stars this movie received, but I think L&D should have stuck with their tv show and characters and left it at that. If they wanted to pull off a movie like this, either one of them could have made this movie but starring a different co-star. I think then the movie would have been a little better.

The Other Boleyn Girl
Back To SLC....Again
Todd left again this morning for SLC. I just heard from him and he just got there.
This week will be fun. Jordan starts school on Monday only going for 1/2 day. He will actually be able to come home earlier then 1/2 day because in the afternoon he is scheduled to attend vocational school and since it a 1/2 day vocational school will not be in attendance so he will be able to come home earlier. Wednesday he has his follow-up appt with the oral surgeon early in the morning. Then Thursday is Open House at the High School; Todd should be home by then so he will be able to attend with me. Ethan will be heading downtown 2 days next week. One to meet the staff of the film & video department and the other day to have a "picnic" with the President of the college. All new students have to attend both functions it is mandatory. He is really looking forward to starting college on the 2nd of September. Even though he has to take general courses 1st semester.
So this week will be filled with events to keep us all busy.

Oral Surgery Today
Well today Jordan went through his oral surgery. He had 4 of his wisdom teeth pulled; 3 of which were impacted. He got through it a lot better then I imagined he would have. He is in pain yes; but I keep telling him that as time goes by he will feel better. He is on 3 prescriptions that say has to be taken with food. Kind of hard when all he can eat is jell-o, pudding, mashed potatoes and any other soft stuff. He so far has only requested pudding and is finding that hard to eat.
We have now spent that last 4 hours watching the Muppet Show season 3 DVD that Todd and I gave him after he got home from surgery. (He has season 1 & 2 already)
Hoping he will be able to sleep tonight without too much pain. Todd is off tomorrow and Friday before he heads back to SLC so he will play nurse if needed.

Mamma Mia!
Last night I watched Mammia Mia! It was recommended by a neighbor to go and see.
Well despite the Abba music; it was a pretty good movie. I think they could have omitted about 1/2 the songs in the movie. I'm a Colin Firth & Meryl Streep fan so I enjoyed seeing both of them in the movie. It would have been better in my eyes if Colin played Pierce Bronson's part. LOL

Back To SLC
Well Todd left again for SLC he had a 6:00am flight so he got up around 3:30am or something like that to get to the airport. He was told that they only really need him for 1 day. Really? Are you kidding me? They are flying him out for 1 dang day?
He said if this is true he is going to try and fly standby when his work is finished. This is the week Jordan is having Oral Surgery so having Todd home even a day earlier would be nice. Todd originally wasn't going to come home until the day of Jordan's surgery, then he change it so he would get home late the night before surgery, now if he can come home even early that would be awesome.

Left Handers Day
Today is left handers day!
13% of the worlds population are left handed.
I know of a few myself (if I am missing anyone, sorry)
My son Jordan, my Brother-in-laws Greg and Rodney, my friend's son Dustin, our friend Toni who lives in Aussie.
I know there are others but these are the ones that come to mind right now.

Remember the Sears Wish Book?
Do you remember the Sears wish book that used to come out around September/October?
Besides Saturday morning tv, that was basically the only way I knew what kind of toys were availble and how I made my Christmas List to Santa.
Well yesteday I opened my mailbox and there was this thick catalog sitting in it.
I just started to laugh, because this catalog reminded me of the Sears Wish Book.
It was an 818 page Harley Davidson catalog.
OMG a wish book for Bikers.

A Lonely Anniversary
Well today marks Todd and my 22nd wedding aniversary and we are spending it on opposite sided of the united states. Todd is in SLC until Wednesday and will be arriving home late Wednesday night.
He did send me an arrangement of flowers with his love. This is the 1st time I have ever had flowers actually delivered to me by a florist. Usually any flowers I received are given directly to me by the one I love. I would have picked the later of the two for this occasion.

Quote I Heard
Eric and Kathy are hosting their radioathon for Childrens Memorial Hospital this weekend. This is a heart wrenching event that I cry listening to every year.
One of the parents said this and it is so true.
"Your only as happy as your sadiest child"

My Dental Work is Finally Completed
Well last night my 2 caps were put in place a little over a year since this whole mess started. The only appointment I have now is for a cleaning and that will be in a couple of weeks. I haven't gotten the bill yet for services rendored but this dentist is so compassionate and understanding about what I have been through that he is going to accept payments instead of asking everything in one lump sum. If you recall, my insurance had already covered one of my caps and I had paid over $500.00 out of pocket to the idiot that 1st started this. 1 cap falling out ended up being 2 caps and a root canal.
So needless to say, I am happy the dental work is finally over.

Griller, I am NOT
Todd went for a full day riding today with an old friend. They left at around 6:15am and I received a phone call at 12:20p saying that they stopped for lunch and that they were at around the 1/2 way point. So I don't expect to see him until about 6:00pm-7:00pm.
Anyway I went grocery shopping this morning and the store had Rib-eyes on sale for an incredible price. I was planning on making BLT's but decided to make the steaks instead.
The steaks did turned out pretty darn good; but my grilling technique stinks. When I was going to take the steaks off the grill, I had a major flame up. I turned off everything including the propane and was hoping that would cut the fire. I got all the steaks off without any major burnage on me or the steaks. The lid sits so high on the grill that when I closed it I burned myself on my arm.
I have realized I will leave grilling to other people and I will savor their talents of cooking on the grill.

Blog Facelift
The backgrounds that come with blogger.com are rather plain; I noticed a ladies blog that I go to on occasion that uses blogger.com and she has a fun background. The website is advertised on the upper left of her blog; as mine does now too. I decided to visit the website. They offer quite a few Free backgrounds so after Todd and I fiddled with it; we got the background to work for my blog.
I enjoy the girlie look of my new background.

Chicago Bears Family Night
Chicago Bears FAMILY NIGHT was pretty darn fun last night.
We arrived a little after 3:00pm at Soldier Field, they had food, beverages, vendors and radio stations set up outside the stadium. We took some pics of that but I am only planning on posting the Bears pictures here from the event. I will scrapbook everything else in the future.
This event is a chance for the fans to watch the bears practice and a chance for the bears to have a practice session at Soldier Field.
(Click on the pictures to view them larger)
We were in section 140 row 13 seat 1-4. Awesome seats! I had to laugh because a little boy behind us was complaining that they weren't close at all. Spoiled Brat! To top it off his mom said that next year she would find out what day the tickets went on sale and would make sure they got seats closer. HUH? Anyway here's a picture as to how close we were:
Following are some pictures of the practice. Brad Maynard holding for Robbie Gould:
Brian Urlacher and Hunter Hillenmeyer. I think the guy in the middle is a defensive coach
The 3 quarterbacks are in this picture. Unfortunately you only see the front of 1 of them; Kyle Orton:
Kyle Orton quarterbacking a play:
Devin Hester receiving a punt. BTW he got past the defense in this play and would have taken it in for a TD if it was an actual game, but they stop the play because it is only a practice.
I think we all had a good time, we purchased some cool t-shrits, ate stadium food, were able to see the Chicato Bears and at the end watched some pretty awesome fireworks. Make sure you check out Todd's blog sometime this week he was planning to post a few different pictures and you can read his perspective on the evening.
